Line 6: Line 6:
Nice is one of the great walking cities of the Mediterranean. Compact enough to cross on foot in under an hour, yet endlessly varied in its neighbourhoods, gradients, and sensory textures, it rewards slow movement in a way that no bus route or taxi can replicate. The Old Town (Vieux Nice) is almost entirely pedestrianised. The Promenade des Anglais stretches 7 kilometres along the Baie des Anges, traffic-free on its seaward side. Castle Hill rises 92 metres above the old port, offering the best panoramic view of the city for the price of a climb. And beyond the urban core, the Sentier du Littoral — the coastal footpath — continues eastward toward Villefranche-sur-Mer along cliffs and coves that remain astonishingly wild. Nice is one of the great walking cities of the Mediterranean.
