Benevolent Expert Wiki was created for Experts to share their expertise.
First, let's define terms
Benevolence is a giving, caring personal attribute. A benevolent person has the inclination to perform kind, charitable acts. A benevolent person is a sharing person.
An Expert is a person with a high degree of skill in or knowledge of a certain subject. An experienced, skilful, or practiced person; one skilled or thoroughly informed in any particular department of knowledge or art. Honestly, we have never met a single person who does not know something we do not know, from less than 5 years old to well over 100 years old. Everyone is an expert in some way and we want to listen and learn.
A Wiki is a collaborative website whose content can be edited by anyone who has access to it.
You may know and use Wikipedia Paris that has thousands of contributors and provides information to millions. We find the Paris section of Wikipedia excellent and powerfully, a very detailed Wiki. But this Wiki is so overpowering that we find it is sometimes not accessible and not as easy for what we want to do.
You may know and use Wikivoyage Paris. Wiki Voyage was created for fellow travelers with many hundreds of contributors. Although excellent, it again may be too complex for our target audience, especially those who would like to contribute.
The Benevolent Expert certainly does not have the volume of views as the popular Wikis. Our Wiki is for folks like you and me who provide in plain language and provide information in which we are expert.

Documentation
The Benevolent Expert is always in need of wiki gardening. Even if you only have used DokuWiki for a short time there is much to do and many ways you can help the site.
- Correct spelling mistakes
- Make and add screenshots or photos of features or plugins where appropriate
- There are some documentation pages which mention that certain features are development (use the backlinks feature to find them). If these remarks are less recent than the most recent release, they are most probably no longer relevant. Check that and remove them and rewrite the affected paragraphs.
- Make sure recent changes are documented and if not, document them or remind the developers who did the changes to document them.
- Search for FIXME, try to fix these areas yourself.
The best way to become a good Wiki editor is learn by doing and participating in a Discussion. Add a page such as a Recipe or link several recipes together to make a Menu
